Sip, sample, socialize and celebrate by attending an upcoming Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI) event.
BACI is expecting about 100 people to gather Feb. 28 for its general meeting at BACI’s Still Creek Centre at 2702 Norland Ave. in Burnaby. The affair provides the opportunity to mark inclusion, innovation and accessibility with an awards presentation.
“The main focus of our general meeting on Feb. 28 will be featuring the Inclusion Through Innovation Awards and the award recipients,” says Carol Broomhall, BACI’s senior manager of communications and resource development.
The awards presentation is at the top of the agenda. While one individual and one organization will be honoured for their efforts to advance inclusion through innovation, the program is also intended to highlight the vast and multiple ways stakeholders are helping to create more accessible and inclusive communities.
PosAbilities’ Can You Dig It! initiative and its creator Cinthia Page were honoured in 2011 with Inclusion through Innovation awards.
The general meeting runs from 6:30-8 p.m.
Prior to its start, the Sharing our Future Foundation hosts a wine-and-cheese social from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
“The wine-and-cheese reception is a chance to mix and mingle with award nominees and community guests,” Carol adds.
All community members are welcome to attend. Child-minding services are available by e-mailing reception(at)gobaci.com or by calling 604-299-7851.
