Karey has a diverse background, having studied art, design and special education. She has been with BACI for 10 years. Her roles with the Association have included working directly with individuals in residential and day services, being supervisor of a residential home, then manager of Community Inclusion and, for the past two years, taking a leadership role as Senior Manager of Community and Housing Development. In this current role, Karey manages the development and delivery of all housing options, considering each person and their families’ unique needs and expectations.
A new addition to her portfolio is coordinating the Vancouver Crisis Response Service. Karey enjoys her role as an instructor, teaching Non-violent Crisis Intervention and MANDT. She is also sitting on various committees within Community Living. Acting as coordinator for several events at BACI, Karey is constantly looking for opportunities to celebrate or throw a party.Karey has found her fit at BACI. She cherishes the diversity and genuineness of the individuals she has had the opportunity to meet and support. She holds a deep respect for the families and their enduring commitment and is extremely proud to work with dedicated staff who inspire her daily.
