Wellness Domains – Social

Social wellness involves enjoying being with others by having positive interactions with those around you. It includes things like maintaining networks of supportive friends, family and other social contacts, as well as becoming involved in your community.

The most basic of all human needs is the need to understand and be understood. The best way to understand people is to listen to them. – Unknown

Take 20 minutes a day to connect in a meaningful way with others.

  • Do a fun activity with family/friends
  • Commit a “Random Act of Kindness”
  • Donate blood or platelets
  • Register to donate an organ
  • Volunteer at least 30 min. of your time
  • Participate in a book club
  • Vote
  • Donate something to someone
  • Take time to REALLY listen to someone
  • Spend an hour with a pet
  • Phone a close relative or friend just to say hello
  • Plan a board game evening with friends
  • Thank someone for a kindness they have done for you
  • Give 3 compliments today
  • Encourage someone you know to attend college
