As many of you know, BACI is required to go through an external review to make sure the standard of services we provide is in line with international best practices (like other organizations who receive at least $500,000 in contract funding from CLBC and MCFD).
For the past 15 years, BACI has participated in an accreditation process with CARF (The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission). CARF has developed “best practice” standards by gathering feedback and expertise from families, people with disabilities, and the employees throughout North America who are connected with the Community Social Services sector.
Over those 15 years (and 5 Accreditation reviews), BACI has consistently achieved CARF’s highest award — a 3-year Accreditation. In our most recent review in May 2017, we were surveyed on 1,233 Standards of Practice and received only 2 Recommendations on things we can improve on. All of our programs received “outstanding” reviews!
We look forward to our 6th Accreditation Survey in the Spring of 2020 so we can once again demonstrate the many ways we are making a difference in the lives of the people we serve.
